QS world university rankings 2020 : Tsinghua University and Peking University have won the highest ranking in history

The latest world university rankings for 2020 were released this morning by Quacquarelli Symonds, an international higher education research institute. Tsinghua university and Peking University are ranked 16th and 22nd respectively, the highest ranking ever achieved by the two universities on the list.

Published in 2004, QS world university rankings are among the most influential higher education rankings in the world. The rankings are based on academic reputation, employer reputation, teacher-student ratio, research citations and the number of international students.

Tsinghua university and Peking University ranked 17th and 30th respectively in the 2019 list. In the latest ranking, tsinghua university passed Yale university and Columbia University, while Peking University rose eight places to tie with the university of Tokyo in 22nd place.

Besides Tsinghua University and Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of science and technology of China are also among the top 100 universities in the QS world university rankings 2020. According to statistics, this year’s list evaluates more than 1,000 universities from different countries and regions of the world, a total of 66 Chinese universities are in the list.
